It’s about that time of year when, if you haven’t already done them, you ought to start thinking about getting a start on taxes. Our tax laws in the U.S. are so complicated. With all the different pieces of information you need to be able to report on, all the potential deductions, credits, liabilities, etc. it can take hours and hours just to figure out what you need to have collected before you can start writing out your taxes, and then it’s hours of work to complete them. Anybody else wonder if there is a better way?
Yet, if there’s anything history has shown us, it’s that if there is a better way, we will find anything but that. Seems like with every generation that passes we only find way to make things more complicated.
So that brings the possibly very entertaining question of what might happen with taxes and tax laws in the future. Today, spend some time outlining and writing a story in which taxes some way play a crucial role. Happy writing!
