Another life unraveling…

“Careful, Child. The strings grow fragile now.”

Tiny strings fell into her chubby fingers more and more. More that just never wove together tight enough to make a life. She kept them all, gathering them into a ball that the Mother made into a blanket for her. The Crone scowled each time she tucked another string away. The Maiden cried a little each time a string fell apart.

But why were there so many now? More than ever. She stood, two more strings dangling from her fingers. She had to know.

“Child, where are you going?” the Mother asked.

“To see.” She climbed from the Unseen and became Seen.

  1. I’ll say the same thing I did when I read an earlier version of this: by itself, it really doesn’t do a whole lot. What are the strings? Who are the people? What’s the big deal with more strings happening?

Now, as an introduction/preface, I think it works very well. Since I know more is coming, I’m fine with that — but maybe a note that the story will continue? That might help more. 🙂
