This was a lie! The sign said Doctor. Doctors were to heal, not kill. But here, she saw the shadows of little children who would never breathe, never cry, never live. They passed by her, blind to her, searching and calling for the mothers who’d thrown them away.
The Mother appeared, gathering them into her arms and bundling each one in light.
“Hurry, Child,” the Mother whispered. “Mothers wait for their little ones to be born while you play here.”
“No new strings?”
“Not when you’re not there to make them.”
Something with Red and white lights flashed outside, moving fast down the street. The Child ran after it.
